The Old Aspell/Pspell

The original Aspell/Pspell combination is now frozen. Since GNU Aspell is now released absolutly no support will be provided for the original Aspell/Pspell combination.

• Latest Source: Aspell .33.7.1, Aspell Patch .33-fix2 (download and apply to Aspell tree), Pspell .12.2 (install first)
• Official Dictionaries for Aspell .33.7. The English dictionary is provided with Aspell.
• Older Versions: Aspell, Pspell

  While I recommend you use these binaries to avoid the hassle of installing aspell yourself I do not officially support them. If you have problems with them please contact the individual package maintainers.

  • Mac OS X (Officially known as cocoAspell. It is more than just a binary as it also provides Mac OS X specific services.)
  • BeOS
  Aspell .32.6 is included Red Hat Linux 7.1. If you have created a binary for another platform please send be a note so I can add it to the list.
